Actress Julia Montes opened up about the beginnings of her romance with actor Coco Martin in an interview on Karen Davila’s YouTube channel, revealing that their love story started off in an unexpected and humorous way.
When Karen asked how Coco courted her, Julia said Coco’s special attention initially made her panic. “Hindi agad-agad. Nung nililigawan niya ako, nagpa-panic ako. So lagi ko siyang bina-bluff hanggang sa na-hurt ko siya,” she admitted. Because of her reactions, their relationship didn’t immediately take off, and Coco felt hurt by her responses.
However, fate had other plans. When they worked together again in another project, their connection deepened. “Nung nag-meet kami ulit, nag-work kami ulit, dun na nag-develop ulit,” Julia shared, recalling how their romance naturally blossomed the second time around.
Julia described Coco as a “super sweet” and thoughtful partner. She recalled one memorable gesture when Coco surprised her with a pet dog, simply because he noticed her admiration for dogs they had encountered. She praised him for being caring, consistent, and attentive—a partner who continues to show his love through both big and small actions.
