DusBi presses that what they have is real during “PBB Collab” Big Tapatan

In the recent Big Tapatan challenge of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” where the Duo Challengers put the remaining housemates under the microscope, Dustin Yu and Bianca De Vera aka DusBi had to face tough questions about their closeness and ‘ambag’ or contribution to the house, designed to test their sincerity and trigger a reaction.

Right away, the challengers zeroed in on DusBi’s closeness in a debate that felt like a “you and me against the world” moment, as the duo fiercely defended the bond they built inside the house, something Dustin described as unexpected and real.

However, the challengers weren’t convinced that easily. Some implied that Dustin’s connection with Bianca may not be as organic as he makes it seem, and even insinuated that he might have planned it from the start to ride on the strength of a loveteam inside the house.

Kira Balinger brought up how Dustin used to talk about her a lot back when she was still inside, while AC Bonifacio pointed out that he asked almost every female housemate whether they were single. In response, Dustin explained that Kira is indeed girlfriend material—physically. That prompted Kira to ask, “So if ‘di ko naging ka-duo si Josh [Ford], what would you do?”

“To be honest Kira, hindi kita nakikitang magiging duo ko nung mga araw na ‘yun. Honestly, ‘till lumabas ka, hindi naman talaga tayo naging close so ‘di kita pipiliin,” he said plainly.

Dustin then addressed the speculation that he had been playing into a love team narrative, making it clear to the challengers that he never planned any kind of romantic storyline with Bianca for strategy.

But Kira further pressed. “So, ano ‘to?” she asked, referring to his special closeness with Bianca.

“Totoo. Totoo ‘to, Kira. Alam mo ‘yan,” replied Dustin.

When asked why he chose Bianca as his final duo partner, Dustin kept it straightforward. “Kasi gusto ko siya,” adding that there’s was no need to explain what they share inside the house.

Kira pushed again, this time pointing out how their closeness comes with baggage. She questioned the pair about the frequent tension and jealousy that seems to follow them, even though they aren’t officially in a relationship. That, she said, affects the group’s dynamic.

Answering in her usual firm and intelligent way, Bianca admitted that there were indeed  times she felt things between them were becoming toxic. She acknowledged that their petty arguments sometimes spilled over and affected others. With sincerity, she apologized, especially to Klarisse de Guzman, for the times their issues might have caused distraction or tension during tasks.

Still, Bianca stood by what she and Dustin had built, saying that whatever rough patches they went through helped them grow, not just as a pair, but as individuals. What might have looked toxic, she explained, was perhaps just part of the process they had to experience to understand themselves and each other better. “Just like with any type of friendship or relationship, we believe that from those obstacles, we’ve grown. We’ve grown a lot.”

“With the toxic part, I feel like I did, I thought we were. Pero, feeling ko hindi naman pala. I think it was just a vital part of what we had to go through inside our journey in this house.”

Bianca then turned the tables, asking the challengers especially Michael Sager, who sarcastically called their duo the “loveteam of the century,” what was so wrong about her and Dustin drawing support from each other inside Bahay Ni Kuya.

“What if we find strength within each other, mali ba ‘yun?” she said.

Ashley Ortega called out the “rich kid” Bianca for rarely helping with house chores. She pointed out how it was always Klarisse cooking. “Bakit laging si Ate Klang ‘yung nagluluto? Never ka man lang nagkusa na, ‘Ate, ako na ‘to’?” Ashley remarked, trying to push a reaction.

But Bianca kept her cool, explaining that all of them knew how to cook but they let Klarisse take charge because they saw how much she loved doing it. “Simple lang naman ‘yung sagot ko diyan, eh. I really didn’t want to overstep. Yes, I can do that. Kaya kong magluto kahit paglutuan ko kayo buong araw. But I won’t do that kasi alam kong gustong-gusto ‘yun gawin  ni Ate Klang. So, ipaparaya ko ‘yun sa kan’ya.”

She continued, “Hello, let’s be real. Almost lahat kami na natitira dito marunong sa kusina pero pinapaubaya namin ‘yun sa kan’ya because we know how much she loves to see us eat what she cooks. So, ‘yun lang ‘yun.”

When asked if they really deserve a Big Four spot when it seems like their focus has been only on their “love team,” DusBi pressed that they’ve been real since day one, and that winning inside Bahay Ni Kuya isn’t just about being first in tasks, but about holding on and fighting for the dreams that brought them there.

Were DusBi’s answers and honesty enough to convince the house challengers to choose them as the first duo in the Big Four?
