Last moments

CCTV footage has captured some of the last known moments of the young flight attendant.

Video, seen above, has emerged of Dacera in a hallway where she and a man can be seen knocking on the door of a hotel room.

The charges

Following her death, police in Makati filed a provisional charge of rape with homicide against 11 men who were with her on the night of the party.

Three of the eleven men – John Paul Halili, Rommel Galido, and John dela Serna – were arrested but have since been released, pending further investigations.

Makati City Prosecutors Office said evidence submitted in the case by police was insufficient, the Philippine Daily Inquirer reports.

“At this point, the pieces of evidence so far submitted are insufficient to establish that she was sexually assaulted or raped,” a statement released by the office read.

“And, if sexual assault/rape was committed, who is/are the person/s responsible”

Cause of death

The prosecutors’ office added the proof of death was unclear and no evidence was submitted to show that the suspects planned to kill Dacera.

Investigators said while the results of an autopsy were pending, Dacera’s body was bruised and she had cuts on her thighs and knees.

Sperm had also been found in her genitalia.

Dacera’s family respond

The 23-year-old’s mother Sharon, in a plea to President Rodrigo Duterte’s help, said the incident was brutal and barbaric.

“I don’t want this to happen to another woman who will be treated like that,” the 23-year-old’s mum Sharon said.

“Christine does not deserve this brutality.”

She had a blunt message for those responsible for the death of her daughter.

“You treated her like a pig,” she said.

“I don’t want this to happen to another woman who will be treated like that.

“Christine does not deserve this brutality.”
