Tragedy at a Birthday Party: 63-Year-Old House of Representatives Employee Fatally Shot in Quezon City

MANILA – A joyful family celebration turned into a heartbreaking tragedy on Sunday afternoon in Commonwealth, Quezon City, when Zaedynjay Cruz, a 63-year-old employee of the House of Representatives, was fatally shot while attending his daughter’s birthday party.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), two unidentified individuals entered the venue and suddenly opened fire at close range. Cruz was immediately rushed to the FEU-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, but was declared dead on arrival. The suspects fled the scene on a motorcycle and allegedly tried to threaten a security guard who attempted to stop them.

Authorities have launched a thorough investigation and assigned a special team to focus on the case. While the motive remains unclear, investigators believe the act may have been premeditated.
